Watched 2021 movie tonight called Copshop. IMDB rating 6.3.
It was a lot of fun. Got a little far fetched toward the end but still a very enjoyable movie!

It's set in the U.K. in 1984. Margaret Thatcher is in power and it's the early days of HIV/AIDS. The National Union of Mineworkers are 4 months into an ugly & messy strike.
A group organizing the local gay pride parade feels that the abuse & harassment the miners are experiencing is not much different from what they experience everyday so they decide to organize a fundraiser to raise money in support of the mineworkers.
While the mineworkers are desperate for help they are not sure they want it from a bunch of faggots & dykes.
In my humble opinion this is an absolutely must see movie! What a great show!

Wife and I went to the cinema to see the film The Northman. It is a viking story that if you're not careful could confuse you as it is not the hollywood viking saga but a look at the real deal viking of the period. A bit gory here and there but well worth the price of a ticket to see.

We're really forward to seeing The Northman, too.
We watched The Batman last weekend and I have to say it is one of the best versions yet. I wasn't expecting it to be so good. Robert Pattinson was outstanding. It ticked all the boxes for me. Story, Acting, Directing, Editing, Music, Wardrobe, Sets, Lighting and I could go on. I enjoyed it very much.
I stumbled across a movie yesterday called "All Quiet On The Western Front" 2022 2hr 28 min imdb rating 7.8 (99k votes)
It's a war movie and I am not at all a fan of war movies (with a couple of exceptions such as "Das Boot" and "1918") but the reviews and the trailer convinced me to give it a shot.
Some of the reviewers have called this movie 'A Masterpiece'. I agree with them!
The original movie was German but there are lots of versions with English audio & subtitles.

Last night for the umpteenth time I rewatched the movie "The Duellists, " the first film made by director Ridley Scott in 1977.
All the shots in the film refer to the light of Caravaggio's paintings.
For me, this film is a masterpiece. The soundtrack is also sublime. Keith Corradine and Harvey Keitel are the two main actors and play two officers of the Napoleonic Hussars.

I read the description & thought, "No. I'm not gonna like this."
Then, by accident I hit play instead of next. I thought, Screw it. I can always dump it if I don't like it and settled in to watch.
This turned out to be a great movie! It's a true story about a funeral home owner (Tommy Lee Jones) who decides to sue a major corporation that's trying to take over his business and hires a flashy lawyer (Jamie Foxx) to help him.
Great movie!! The 2+ hours just flew by! Highly recommended!!!

I just watched Beckham on Netflix. I don't like football at all, but I thought.... let's give it a go.
I really enjoyed all the episodes. I felt his passion with the game all the way through.

Tells the true story of Sir Nicholas 'Nicky' Winton, a young London broker who, in the months leading up to World War II, rescued over 600 children from Nazi-occupied Czechoslovakia.
The older Nicky is played by Anthony Hopkins & the younger by Johnny Flynn. Both do an impressive job!
I had seen the actual clip of the scene near the end of the movie where Nicky Winton is in the audience of the "That's Life" TV show several times in the past and it was very interesting to get the full story behind it.
Highly recommended!

Very Good Thriller
Rachel Weisz for the win as usual.
When you want something intelligent and interesting to think about.
This is not an action shoot-em up despite the cover may give that impression.
I went in watching without knowing anything except seeing that cover.
And really liked it and giving away anything of the plot may ruin some of the experience so i leave it at that.
