Starship Troopers (1997)

Starship Troopers is one of my favorites. Up there with some classics like War of the Worlds and Predator. There was one scene that resonated with me. The shower scene. Not just because of the nudity but the calmness and business-as-usual atmosphere of it. I saw something on Quora about it and I thought I'd share it here.

The movie Starship Troopers features a nude shower scene. All recruits, male and female, are in the common shower and completely naked. The atmosphere is friendly and not erotic. The scene wants to symbolize the equality of recruits and represent a futuristic and open image of society. Therefore, the scene is quite relevant to the plot of the sci-fi action movie. The actors, however, made an interesting statement in exchange for being naked. They only wanted to shoot the scene if Paul Verhoeven, the film's director, was also naked in the process.
