Starship Troopers (1997)

Starship Troopers is one of my favorites. Up there with some classics like War of the Worlds and Predator. There was one scene that resonated with me. The shower scene. Not just because of the nudity but the calmness and business-as-usual atmosphere of it. I saw something on Quora about it and I thought I'd share it here.

The movie Starship Troopers features a nude shower scene. All recruits, male and female, are in the common shower and completely naked. The atmosphere is friendly and not erotic. The scene wants to symbolize the equality of recruits and represent a futuristic and open image of society. Therefore, the scene is quite relevant to the plot of the sci-fi action movie. The actors, however, made an interesting statement in exchange for being naked. They only wanted to shoot the scene if Paul Verhoeven, the film's director, was also naked in the process.

Starship Troopers (1997) is a very good film a Classic and it Holds up well as good in 2024
as it was around 1997 when i saw it the first time and the Quora quote is right on the money.
the director info was new to me and may have helped contributed to the natural relaxed vibe.
the rest of the films are not as good one of them is really dumb while others are are pretty ok.
so if wanting new content if you have not seen them they may be worth a one time watch or more...

but if you mean War.of.the.Worlds.2005 Tom Cruise that's one i did not like.
personally i liked Oblivion.2013.1080p Tom Cruise but lots of people i talked to did not like that one
so each to their own. it's all good. cheers.
there also is Edge.of.Tomorrow.2014 with Tom Cruise that is pretty interesting....
