Chamberlain dvernb Posted April 27, 2021 Chamberlain Share Posted April 27, 2021 (edited) A new feature is being introduced to iPhones and iPads this week which is causing a huge rift between Apple and Facebook. It will allow device users to say no to having their data collected by apps. Facebook has been put in a spin by this because user data - and the advertising it can generate - is what makes the company so profitable. This update could deal a severe blow to its business model. https://www.bbc.com/news/technology-56831241 P.S. mods: If this post is out of line please accept my apologies and delete. . Founder Merlin Posted April 27, 2021 Founder Share Posted April 27, 2021 Hallelujah. Thank you Apple. I love my iPhone! 1 Quote Link to comment
HipHyp
The extensive security announcements Apple made as part of iOS 15 (iPad, Mac, etc) were surprising. Apple is continuing to do damage to other companies ability to use free web services and even email advertising to generate revenue. As an end-user I appreciate not being tracked every time I pick up a device. On the other hand, I don't necessarily want a world where all services have to charge a fee to survive. 2 Quote Link to comment
