Australia.2008.1080p.BluRay
this has also gotten a longer version aka mini series edited from the footage of this films left overs called
Faraway.Downs.2023
Faraway.Downs.S01.COMPLETE.2160p.HULU.WEB.H265-SuccessfulCrab
the film has a good fantasy story with a few historical fact mixed in war history and does a good job presenting some historical fact about the lost generation some event took place from 1939 and earlier and only ended as recent as 1978 with an apology in 2008 that is messed up. the practice should have ended far earlier than 1978 it should not have been done at all but lasting to 1978 that is very bad and then
apology in 2008 that's way too late.
i first saw the film in 2023 runtime 2h 45 minutes.
i now in 2024 have seen the series runtime 3h 45 minutes.
that promised more content that had not been used in the film looked to be another extra 60 minutes of content but that was a lie
it was a good experience watching the series however
i was glad i could skip intro and end credits they have around 6 minutes intro and end credit on all 6 episodes
6 minutes x5 episodes = 30 minutes extra start end credits i excluded start and end credit on 1 episode in the series to match vs the films intro and start credit subtract 30 minutes runtime from the series it means all they added on was maybe additional approximately 30 more minutes of content and frankly i did not notice any big changes or extra in depth material
all they have done was stretched a few scenes a little and divided it up in chapters....
the series is basically just and extended version movie with a little more content its a marketing gimmick to cash in
extra launching it as a TV series.
however i recommend giving either the movie or the TV series a go and if you like it check out the other version as well
and see how you think they compare. and what version you like best.
