Gregorius 2926 Posted July 6 Banco del Mutuo Soccorso (English: Bank of Mutual Relief) is an Italian rock band. A popular progressive rock band in the 1970s, they continued making music in the 1980s and 1990s. Recently, they were still active, playing live in 2001 and 2008 at NEARfest. Victor de Sierra 67 Posted July 9 Soda Stereo is an amazing Argentinian Spanish rock band. Their music is legendary due to their poetic lyrics and catchy melodies. Many say that their approach to music has changed the genre for the better. Their lead singer, Gustavo Cerati, wrote many of the songs. Soda Stereo reached the height of their popularity in the 80s. Two of their most famous songs are: De música ligera (Of Light Music) and Persiana americana (American Blinds). They have become popular regionally and internationally for their music, as well as for frequent collaborations with bands from other parts of the world. Victor de Sierra 67 Posted July 19 Scorpions A band now with a half century history, Scorpions might have begun in a psychedelic vein but quickly developed their own sense of hard rocking style, which saw them burst out of Germany and become internationally successful. The band’s output during the 70s and 80s was magnificent, even if some of the album covers were a little risqué. Marie Fredriksson died on 9 December 2019, at the age of 61, following a long battle with a brain tumour.
