Kath 1249 Posted November 1, 2021 Both of my grandkids have been diagnosed with covid. They are 11 and 12, this is such a blow. Izzy just started at big school this term. Secondary school you may call it, Thomas is still at Primary school. Isabelle must have given the virus to Thomas. Mum and Dad are vaccinated so they 'should' be OK. Awe, Izzy's birthday fell on the day she was diagnosed, what a bummer. I guess this is a case of get the kids vaccinated too. I'm worried about Izzy, she's so petite and small for her age, much like me really 5' 2" and skinny. I can only hope she is OK. So, no birthday treats for her or hugs from everyone. 1 1
dvernb 1242 Posted November 2, 2021 That's a shame! I think the kid's vaccine is coming very soon but obviously too late for your grandkids. Hopefully their symptoms won't be too serious and they'll breeze right through it! Keep us posted! 2 1
Makara 211 Posted November 2, 2021 a lot of folk say it's ok for kids to get covid as it does not affect as us elder citizens ... that's not true a lot of Children are being affected with long covid as the virus affects/targets our organs even in mild cases 1

We are all thoroughly cheesed off with covid. We've been isolating for nearly 2 years... Please no more pestilence.....

I'm on the cusp of getting a booster to increase my immunity. That being so, I need to be extra careful at this time. But it's painful 'again'. How long can this torment go on?
